HOW TO USE A SOCIAL WALL FOR YOUR WEDDING

Weddings are meant to not only capture the intimate moments with your soon to be husband or wife but also with your family and friends. To achieve this why not use a Social Wall for your wedding event! We’ve provided some basic instructions and tips on how to use a Social Wall for your wedding so give it a try.

YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS OR HASHTAGS

Create a new Social Media account that you and your partner (even possibly your bridal party, photographer, videographer) can use leading up to the event. Build a story leading up to the day of the wedding and start sharing memorable moments. For example, share your pre-wedding photo shoots, your engagement photos, places where you’ve been together or even share some interesting information guest didn’t know about both of you.

Besides creating the Social Media accounts, you can also start using Hashtags and share it with your friends and family members so they can start contributing to the Social Wall by using the hashtag in their posts. Think of a unique hashtag that is not too long. For example, harrymegan2018, hmwedding2018.

We recommend checking the hashtag to see if it’s being used. If you add the year or month it will less likely be used. To check if anyone has used the hashtags go to Twitter search and type it in the hashtag:

Hopefully, the Twitter search will return with 0 results.

Do the same search on Instagram (we only display hashtags from Twitter and Instagram).

If you’re really keen on using that hashtag even though there are search results (yes you do get people who do typos and enter the wrong names), then don’t stress out as there are probably other more important wedding tasks to stress over. Our hashtag moderation feature in the Social Wall dashboard will allow you to filter and approve which hashtag posts you want to display on your Social Wall… we’ve got your back. If someone else is using your hashtag then you’re still in control as to which posts to display on your Social Wall.

Now that you have the Social Media account and thought of the hashtags to use, add them to the Social Wall (if you don’t have a Social Wall account then try it out by clicking here)

Login to the dashboard and click on the Instagram or Twitter tab and enter the hashtag e.g harrymegan2018

If you want to moderate the hashtags then use the hashtag moderation feature by clicking on the Hashtag Moderation tab:

Click on Enable Moderation then click on the OFF button to display them on the Social Wall. If the button is green and says ON then it is displaying on the Social Wall.

CUSTOM POSTS

Our Social Wall solution allows you to also add custom posts, meaning these posts will not be published on any of your Social Media accounts. They can be used for display message to guests who are at the Wedding event. Here’s an example:

To add a custom post follow the below steps or read these instructions here

Click on Custom Posts in the Dashboard

Click on Choose File and then select the image you want to display on the Social Wall

Select the image you want to add and then click on Submit

Refresh your Social Wall or wait for the refresh interval and you’re done – how easy was that!

CREATE ENGAGEMENT WITH GUEST BY USING SELFIE FRAMES

To encourage your guest to take photos and use the social media hashtag use “Selfie Frames” like the one below and leave them near the entrances of the venue:

Ask your guests to take photos and then use the hashtag – if you want to take it to another level then wrap this engagement with prizes for those who use the hashtag. For those that can’t make it to your event tell them to follow the Social Wall by providing them with the link so that they can see the latest updates and photos of your event.
